Hi, I’m Kat and I'm a Play Therapist.
I began my training to become a Play Therapist with Play Therapy UK (PTUK) in 2022 after many years of supporting children and young people within schools and alternative provision settings, seeing first-hand the increasing need for therapeutic interventions for our children and young people.
I am passionate about providing a safe and creative space for children to explore their thoughts and feelings using a child centred, integrative holistic approach.
During Play Therapy sessions children are able to choose from a variety of creative arts materials including sand play, arts and crafts, puppets, role play, dance, music and storytelling. It is often difficult for children to talk through their feelings and experiences, Play Therapy allows children to use their natural medium of expression – play – to work through challenges in a safe and creative way.
I have recently joined the Youth Arts Health Trust, alongside my work here I also work on a therapeutic farm, offering outdoor and animals-based therapy sessions tailored to meet the needs of my clients. I love being in the outdoors and in my spare time I enjoy going for long walks, and finding time to be creative.
