Hello, I’m Natasha, a Dramatherapist based in Plymouth. I have worked closely with children, young people and families across education, mental health services and charity settings over many years and have always enjoyed developing meaningful relationships that support people in their wellbeing.
I completed an MA in Drama and Movement therapy at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2017, and am trained in the Sesame Approach. This is a playful approach that uses image, movement, story, and ritual to help people connect, express, and process what they need to in a gentle way. There can be as much or as little talking or creative work as suits each individual. This includes the possibility of working in ways that are appropriate for those who are unable to communicate verbally.
Alongside working with children and young people for YAHT and other organisations, I support university students in managing their mental health needs to enable them to get the most out of their experience of studying. I also work at the charity Headway Plymouth, exploring storymaking and storytelling with adults living with brain injury.
Prior to training as a Dramatherapist, I worked in theatre and performance. I bring much of this experience into my current practice, finding the same joy in creating spaces for connection through embodied play and a shared experience of the creative imagination.
