COULD YOU BE A TRUSTEE FOR US?

Our vision is that every child and young person has the opportunity to live a healthy, happy and fulfilling life. Our mission is to provide high quality arts therapies and creative arts activities so children, young people and their families can develop their skills, confidence and resilience.

We aim to increase opportunities for those who are most in need, and in particular (but not exclusively) for children, young people and families experiencing disadvantage due to mental health difficulties.

We are based in Exeter, with own arts therapy service and are seeking to expand our work across Devon and the South West.

If you would like to use your skills and experience at Board level to help us help young people and their families we very much look forward to hearing from you. We can provide training and mentoring, especially if you haven’t been a Trustee before.

Trustees

We are looking for two committed individuals to expand the range of skills we have and bring additional passion and energy to the team as we seek to grow and develop our charity. We are open to what skills you think you can bring but we are particularly interested in people with clinical and people/HR.

We require dynamic and motivated people who are sympathetic to the aims and objectives of our charity to fulfil these voluntary duties. We expect Trustees to contribute actively to the Board by providing governance and strategic direction; setting overall policy; defining goals and setting targets; evaluating performance; ensuring the charity’s effective and efficient administration and financial stability.

We want to have a wide range of people on the Board, and seek to be representative of the diverse population of the county. There is no need to have Trustee experience to apply.

Trustees are expected to:

• attend up to seven meetings a year including bi-monthly Board meetings (usually mid-week, 5.30-7pm and in Exeter, or online) and an annual planning day;

• get involved in helping with specific tasks as fits with their skills set

• contribute advice and support on an ad hoc basis; and

• attend events.

Travel and out of pocket expenses can be offered on request, especially for those on lower incomes.
